BIG snow storm coming to the east coast. Anyone heading out?

I'm seriously thinking of setting my gear up in the back yard for this one. It would be a decent test of my tarp and the cold weather system I came up with. I don't have an under quilt yet, but I do have an exped pad and a 15 degree sleeping bag I could use from my tent camping days. I do love a good snow storm!!! Anyone else going to be out "testing" gear in the snow?

Is it really going to be a big snow?

A couple days ago it was just the European model that was showing something, then I heard another model was syncing up. After that someone called me and said Jim Cantore was getting all psyched up. It's been a very weak winter in the NE this year so this may be our singular event. If so, yep, I think I need to be outside.

US and Euro models are lining up at 17-24 inches in my area. I'm north of Philly about 30 miles or so in Montgomery Co. All the maps I've been seeing today are showing my area right in the thick of it.

Northern Virginia may get hit. I had plans to hang at Sky Meadows state park anyway this weekend, so while I'm glad we'll finally get some snow I also hope we don't get a foot of it at once or I may end up stuck out there. Anyone in nova want to meet up? Heading there Friday morning and returning Sunday afternoon.

I'm debating between drive in camp at Batona or walk into Mullica River.

Only thing that might mess me up is having to plow, shovel and run the snowblower for the neighbors.

Sounds like too much work for me to get there, if it really snows a foot, but we'll see how it plays out. I don't have a snowblower, but I do have a 75 ft. driveway to shovel. The driveway is on the leeward side of my house, so that's where all the snow accumulates. I just hope it's not heavy snow!

I'd vote for Batona Camp - it's only a 1/4 or 1/2 mile off the main road, and we know where all the sugar sand is!
