Hi Guys this is Thunderarrows. I was talking to Michigandave today and I think I will be doing the Hung with you guys. This will be my first group hang although I have done solo before. Sounds like a good time. If anyone has any information I should know about for the event that would be welcomed. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome to the forums. Looking forward to meeting you. Assuming you've done cold weather hanging before, you should have the important stuff covered. This is primarily a friendly gathering of individuals doing their own thing... which mostly means lollygagging around the fire conversing and eating :-) a comfortable chair with insulation (sit pad or emergency blanket) is highly recommended.

Were we relying on our own personal pots for water? Or would a community large kettle that was brought last year be wanted in addition to our own? I don't have a large pot, but can get one put together on the cheap.

I'm bringing a large stock pot for water heating/purification. If someone can come up with another one, that would be of help. Having 2 pots and using one of them for hot water cleanup is a plus. I got mine at the thrift store for 5 bucks.

I have a small plastic dish tub that I can bring for washing up a few things and a medium size pot for making oatmeal in the am which could double as another pot for heating water.

My travel up from Ky. will bring me straight up I-75N. I will be leaving right after work on Wed. night, it is a 71/2 hour drive, If I leave around 9pm I should be there with one stop at around between 6 to 8am barring weather or road conditions. Anyone who wants to ride up from the south only needs to send a PM with contact info and address and I will stop by. I also am bringing a nice food surprise for around the campfire. ????? See ya'll soon and "Happy trails to you until we meet!"

Picked up a pair of kids downhill skis for $4.00 and the rest of the parts were just laying around at home. Seems to work great. Just need some bungees to tie my box down.
