We spent last weekend at the cabin hanging out and scouting around. There's lots of wood available nearby. Let's hope we have snow by then to make it easier to haul in gear. The hike in takes about 45 minutes and the 2 track is easy to follow. Here's a pic from the weekend. I had to double up my straps to get around those trees. They are huge! It's hard to believe that this is December.

Should be a good time to enjoy the piney woods and meet some other hangers!

Glad to hear you guys can make it. Let's hope we don't have the -26 temps you had your first night there. I hope the posale pork butt thingy is on the menu again. We'll bring the dutch oven!

Good deal. I'm hoping for a Thursday arrival, but playing it by ear. I'll do sausage gravy if you bring the bisquits again!

This is shaping up to another epic adventure. Looks like there's lots of interest from the Bushcraft guys too. It will be a good weekend to pick up some new skills and have a chance to check out lots of different gear. If you've got something in the gear closet that needs a new home, bring it along! Oh, and don't forget that pound of bacon

Yea I was thinking of doing something different, but that stuff is to good and hearty not to make. That's what I'll bring.

This is starting to make the list as long as we are not as cold as last year. I have the Dutch oven seasoned and ready for some bacon!

If you decide to make the hang and bring the dutch oven, I'll drop a subtle hint for a repeat of that breakfast casserole that you whipped up back in November .

I may be taking a hike out there this weekend with my brother to check out the fishing. If I can get my hands on some firewood I will drag it out and stash it somewhere. In the meantime I have been working on my set up, hoping to be able to spend the night this time if the weather cooperates.
