Notice Mikey is wearing his crocs in this picture. He did the 9 mile return trip to Deadman's Hill in those. (see burnt hiking shoe incident above. :-) )
What a trooper! I was lucky to get a picture of the smoke rolling out of both ends of the hothouse. It was great meeting you and Mikey and I hope he get's lots of use out of the Stanley! I remember the look on his face when he found out we had the reddi-wip cream for the hot chocolate . Yep, I'd say we were roughing it this past weekend.

My daughter did the return trip in crocs a couple years ago after depth testing some ankle deep swamp mud in her trail runners on our way out. Definetly not the best way to walk out but better than nothing.

Hey Squirrel Bait, have you checked your IM's lately?

I had a wonderful time, AndrewB and I drove up together and had a wonderful conversation. Terrific guy. When we got there late friday night, two ambulances and a silver Silverado pick-up came past us. Our hearts sank but it wasn't anybody in our camp. I hope everything was OK with whomever needed medics.

I slept in my Amok with an Exped Downmat 9 Sleeping Pad, and my Big Agnes Hog Park (20 degree). I was so warm I had to vent a couple of times but I do sleep hot.

I loved having second lunch, and third dinners. Everything was amazing. Not a bad meal in the bunch. Irish coffees were perfect for after dinner. Loved making new friends and learning new things. I can hardly wait until next year.

Thanks so much to everyone who cooked, Squirrel Bait for setting up base camp where we all took shelter on Saturday, and for everyone's laughter in the face of bad weather. Michiganders huh. LOL

The Irish coffee certainly was a tasty treat.

Thanks for the report, looks like everyone had a great time. Good food, good people, weather to test the soul, what more could a person want?

The Lord of Lollygag would have fit in fine with the Fellowship of Glutons plus you wouldn't have gone home hungry . I like that word "anoraky"....noted for future reference.
