Good Info thanks! I may just rent some stuff to try out. It would be the smart way to go before I go spending money on some new equipment. I have had this idea of wanting to BC ski my gear into camping spots as opposed to snowshoeing. Just seems like more fun! Plus I would like to try skate skiing as well.. I know both require different ski types. I just don't know that much about either. So renting sounds like the way to go. I am a snowboarder as well. And I definitely prefer keeping my board on the ground for the most part. Starting to get a little old to go launching myself of of jumps any more! That's for the young and reckless. I sure hope there will be some decent snow by then! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Da Shack Hang will be December 4,5,6, 2015...
Looking forward to it.
I'll have 2 dozen brats, buns, and calico beans. Will also have the Chocolate Mocha Protein Powder (as seen on HF.net) if someone wants to try it.
Tumblejuice will be JW Black.
Maybe someone could do breakfast bisquits, cinnamon rolls, pizza, beer, etc.
Just made a "three tie rim" forest firebox. Works fine, and worth checking out.
I've got standing dead oaks to ready to cut, split, haul, stack. Also have chainsaw & will be cutting wood there prior.
If there's anything that needs doing to prepare for this, like gathering/cutting/splitting firewood, let me know. I'll do whatever I can to get there early to help out.
If I go, I can make breakfast burritos to share but I'll need a head count as we get closer. So far, I plan on going.
Get lost in the woods and find yourself again. A vacation,to me, is working with your hands and surviving because of the fruits of your labor. In the business world I teach;in the natural world I learn.

I just ordered my UQ from EE, not sure if I'll have it in time for the hang or not... even if it does arrive, it's really a summer quilt, but I could try to supplement with a pad or some extra layers. Revolt 30 degree, long.
Anyway, still following this thread. My tarp arrived and so did my Dutch bling!
Random question for you guys, I have a really nice set of MSR snowshoes, but what do you wear for snow cleats/spikes when there really isn't enough snow for snowshoes? I'm thinking about picking something up, that way, I will ensure that we get a nice heavy snow year! Last year was seriously weak!!
