Well the internet never lies huh? I would recommended calling the dnr number at the bottom of your link and asking for Loretta.

In the times we've been back there, as said earlier, there have been no problems parking overnight. In fact, we've seen up to 10 cars parked in the lot for overnights, plus hunters use the CG as a weeklong base for deer season. It is a State Forest Campground with road access, which requires a MI Recreation passport license tag. Pinney Bridge road is also a trailhead for the NCT, so overnight parking for that is also allowed. I did contact the Gaylord DNR office and spoke to Andy and he confirmed that parking there overnight is legal.

It's not a huge parking area and you have to be careful about not blocking people in, so carpooling is recommended. Hope you can make this years Gluttony Hang!

HAHA yeah! It took me about 25 minutes to wiggle my way out of the lot at the Hoist Lakes meet a few winters ago. Gave my gear selector a good workout there with a 284-point turn around.

I don't know who Loretta is, maybe the secretary? And maybe she misunderstood you and thought you asked about parking at the campsite. It is absolutely legal to park at the parking area With a state park park pass.

Sounds like the parking lot at Green Timbers when we were there in back in February...I guess that's the price to pay for being early . Hope you can make it this year!

After brain storming, I'm thinking Saturday's dinner will include sautéed Morels and onion to compliment somebody else's culinary delight.
