And this slip knot does Not Slip.
All you do is tie one easy knot and you're done.
No Knots (well just one little knot that goes away with an easy pull)
    No Hardware
Leave it all attached so there is no loss of small light components.
    Have fun out there!
Best new thing I've seen in quite a while, Phantom. So well thought out, and simple, simple. Yet everything also easily comes apart if wanted. My hat's off to you for coming up with this. And great for not leaving anything behind. Many pluses. As you kniw, I am a huge fan of knots that I can tie and untie and which work safely with a particular cord and application, and I'm a great fan of your Grapplers Hitch, aside from its use here. Anywhere anytime with just a piece of Amsteel and no tools, I can make a removable loop-soft shackle-biner replacement for hammocks and tarps.

I asked about using the marlinspike (I use a dowel section or a good on-site hardwood piece) because I've already invested in several different widths of nylon and polyester webbing, and I don't want to spend right now on even more webbing. I'll play around with your ingenious C-Red setup with low hang and airbed underneath, using different webbings, once snow here is gone. Combine your C-Red with a Lazy Slug tube-skin if you have quilts, and how could an easy and quick setup be any simpler.

I thank you, MrJames, for your kind words. Here is hoping Mophead tests this rigging. I gotta get ready for spring hangs. Last week I went to Linville Gorge Hang and forgot my coffee mug.
Ha ha ha. Weren't there lyrics from a Halloween record about drinking hot coffee from the spout!!??!!

This is exactly what I was looking for Phantom Grappler! I've wanted to go to strap only suspension for a while but hated the hardware required. I'm so glad my dynaglide whoopies failed on me last weekend. That trip to the ground at 2 am sent me looking for a solution.

Water break a short loop of shoe lace larks headed on suspension--I don't know if it's cotton or poly.

J bend is originated by Theguywitheyebrows. He has pictures of J bend on forum.
Tie a marlin spike hitch in strap or amsteel. There is no toggle yet--insert continuous loop( that's on end of hammock) through marlin spike hitch. Wad up extra suspension strap and insert in end of bight that is protruding from marlin spike hitch. Your weight should keep continuous loop from bending--so loop becomes a toggle.
I hope that is correct- as I've described it wrong before.
Theguywitheyebrows might post a video or no? Good luck and don't get yourself tied up in knots. Shades
