I was going to say let's just do what we've always done, but then I realized that since we've (almost) always had trouble coming to consensus about where and when, in essence we are doing it.

Nah, when I posted that, the dates were even at 14 to 14. But it is an active poll, so,,,,,,,,,

Also, by my reckoning, as of 11:31 today, the site choice is dead even also.

Allowing for Dutch's change of vote from Orchard to Wise & my stepping away from voting taking my Orchard vote "out of play" The score is Wise 10 - Old Orchard 9.

I made visits to both sites over this past Labor Day. I think Old Orchard would be an awsome area for a large group but I have some concerns on the whole water issue. When we were there, it was a piped spring and was flowing but slowly. The area around the spring was convenient for about 2-3 filtering at the same time. I voted tonight for Wise only because of the water supply. The night we stayed there we actually stayed at the campsite just acrossed from the stream just north of Wise. I don't really recall the camping layout around Wise but it sounds like it may be the better option. My wife is also a "weather-friendly" backpacker. She is opting for staying at a cabin with our 2 girls and would like to hike in and visit during the day. I really think she wants to hike in and see the ponies but whatever it takes to get her to come out, right?

Muskrat... yeah, that's one of my reason for sticking w/ Wise on my vote. Water is abundant there.
Did you have a particular cabin in mind for the family? Might want to call now & make sure about what's available that time of year.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Just a reminder, the polls close in 4 days. Yea, I know the site selection poll says it's open till 11/30, that was a mistake on my part, sorry.

So far looks like the date will be the 29th - 31st & the site is at the Wise shelter.

So start figuring out what you will bring to the pot luck held on Sat, & sorting out your cold weather gear & any extra / spare gear you want to bring "Just in case"!

If I understand correctly, The Poll should show 2 less than it does now due to Dutch's change of vote and Doctari dropping off the voting procedure. Is this correct?
