    VA>Mathews Arm Loop?

Anyone have experience hiking & hammocking on the Mathews Arm Loop near Front Royal? Gonna be heading there in a week and a half. Is a permit required?

I haven't hiked that loop, but I've done a few trails near there. If you plan to backcountry camp in SNP, you will need a permit. They're easy to get. You can mail in the form from the Shenandoah National Park site. Since you're only a week and a half out, you may be better off getting at he Ranger Station near Front Royal on your way in. It's easy. It's free.
