LOL!
I said I'd like to go fishing... I wish it was called "going catching!"
To be honest, I've had very poor luck in the Pigeon River, Black River, and Canada Creek but I still enjoy wetting my line- glad there will be a back up meal plan so we don't end up eating the bait!
I would like to contribute to the food though. Are all the meals going to be communal or will group meals supplement our individual supplies? I don't know if you have an idea on the head count (I know it's still a ways off so it may change) but I'll figure out something nice for us.
Thank you for organizing this and inviting me!
Thanks for contributing...Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
For food, we'll be doing group meals, but it's always good to bring some freeze dried etc in case of an epic cooking failure. I know Squirrelbait is doing something with venison on Friday (chili or fajitas), Friday & Sat night dessert I'll be doing my special applejack cobbler, Sat morning Ed & I will be whipping up bisquits & sausage gravy. Probably do the same thing on Sunday, but I've got some other ideas to try. Usually we'll toss in a couple pounds of bacon for snacking during the day too. I may do jambalaya w/andoulle sausage & rice on Saturday night. As we get closer to the event and have a handle on those attending, I'll get a list going. I've also got a pound of venison bacon that I'm dying to try!
On on our last trip, we cooked the above items and there were no complaints from the gallery. I like the idea of the group meals, because I don't mind cooking and usually pass off cleaning duties. One thing, you won't starve on this trip.

This is basically in my back yard, idk if the lady will let me make it but I'll see what I can do
I'll b heading out there with twistin, I was thinking of making Mexican posole. Thoughts on that?
Bring it on, because it the perfect meal on a cold winters day. Do you need the dutch oven or do you use an aluminum pot? Looking forward to having you join us.
Dutch oven would be best. I don't have one now but am scouring around for one. Trying to find one in the hand me down stores first before I throw down on a new. Basically the pork gers cooked first then it stews for a while
Loaded with calories to fill bellies and keep people warm. And who doesn't like mexican food.
I have a dutch oven that I will be bringing for the trip. You could cook in that if that helps out.
