Does anyone in Michigan have plans for a hang or backpacking trip anytime soon?

I want to get out there asap.

I am going out to Waterloo-Pinckney rec area next week. I would be open to hiking if it was less than 7 miles or just car camping. I know the trail and camping spots along the trail pretty well. There are 2 very good spots to go hang in the "middle" of the main trail.

6,000 plus acres available to play in next weekend. Make the journey north and join in the fun:

Lows of around 0 would be the limit of my gear so I may resort to car camping or a very short hike in spot.

This is over 4 hours away for me and I think my wife needs the vehicle on the weekend.

I hear ya. I've definitely been itching to do some camping. Planning an overnight backpacking trip up to the Manistee River Trail loop this spring/summer. Unfortunately I don't think I've got the insulation necessary to be out until it warms up just a little bit more.

You couldn't ask for a nicer area than the Pigeon River Country and it is NEXT WEEKEND! How's that for fast?

Unfortunately it's still a bit cold for the insulation that I've got.

I would love to do a Yankee Springs or even Fort Custer hang in a few weeks once the temps get above 20°F overnight.

Yankee Springs is closed now for winter season-- no access there.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.
