I'd always rather go earlier in the season than too late that I'm sick of winter. Looking at my schedule, I'm away in Costa Rica between Feb 26th and March 12th, so I'd rather do it in Feb sometime if that's possible.
Say there GG, maybe we could hang near your trailer? Is there a place to park some cars up there in the winter? Used to know a woman who I think owned a trailer place on Black Donald. Martin was her last name and she had a daughter that I got to know pretty good.

I may be able to tag along depending on the weekend; there are some may be some scouting activities that get in the way. I am actually just getting my hammock today so I hope to be fully insulated enough in time for March.

I think I'm going to have to pull out.

My lack of insulation, and car I think are going to make things difficult, especially since this is a ski in situation. Transporting skis would be the major issue.

    Anyway, have fun hangin'!

I dont ski but use snowshoes. So don't let that stop you. However insulation will be a problem.

If you fix the insulation issue we can always pick you up at the bus station in Ottawa.

And I don't have snow shoes, just skis. Ha ha!

Thank you for your offer, that's very generous of you, but I'm okay sitting this one out.

If, however, something changes in my circumstances, I'll keep you guys in mind.

    Happy hangin'!

Sorry for the delay but I've been traveling all over working for a new technology start up and don't have much time these days.

I'm going to consult Larry B this weekend and set a date, I'm thinking mid March. we'll know soon

Without hijacking Woolman's thread, there's a very active group in S.Ont by the name of EGL that gets out at least once per season. Check my signature and subscribe to the EGL Notification Thread for updates. Colourful trip reports here and on my blog as well. Next one's probably a canoeing hang in Algonquin just after ice-out and everyone's welcome.

Sorry Woolman. Any updates on the Ottawa Hang? Should be soon!

Once again sorry for the delay but business travel has taken over, it looks like Easter weekend it is...

Larry B and I are going to scout out a spot near Calabogie just up from Highwat 7 this weekend. I'll try to post some pics on Monday. We .ike this area as there is a parking lot at the trailhead, a trout lake close by, and the entire area is crown land.
