Answering every noobs 1st post with a poll

Almost every new poster (myself included) 1st post goes something like this;" Hi I'm so and so and I've been camping for X number of years. I'm new to or just discovered hammock camping, so what should I buy?" So I thought a poll of what people would recomend might be interesting to experianced hangers and helpful to newcomers.

Plus, while we all have our personal favorites, they may not be the best choice for a noob based on their needs. Needs can include climate, purpose (hiking, car, motorcycle, etc..), physical characteristics of said noob, and of course...budget.

Difficult to tell someone just getting started to go spend a couple hundred bucks on a Cadillac hammock when there are dozens of perfectly good Fords out there for less money. Besides, does anybody really have just one hammock?

Technicalities. You should have been a lawyer.

Yup. Why do you think I'm not a doctor? Well, there's that whole intelligence thing, too.

One thing that immediately struck me was the friendliness of this group. I knew I came in asking the same question that had been asked 100 times (thus the title "another noobie"), but they still treated me like I was the first.

After I gain some experience (and do a documented test on 5 simultaneous hammocks), I will be willing to offer a little advice too.

Thanks to all the great members here for making me feel welcome!

Well, hopefully it's just different enough that I'm not rained out. But it's a good thing I brought a poncho to the parade, just in case .
