Clever, going to give that a try when my daughter gone to sleep.
I hooked the D-ring of the tarp with my littlefinger and hold the tag end with my thumb and finger on the same hand whilst i use my...
I'm trying that way to on two of my guylines;)

Yes, mini UCR is the correct description.

The whipped end makes this work like a charm.

My tarp has been hanging for almost 48h straight using this, so far no slippage at all.
I also did whip up some guy lines in the same fashion, let's see how they survive the night.
Hard wind...
Gonna use a Dutch hook and a Wasp to connect to the trees.

A warm welcome from Stockholm, Sweden :)

Maybe the friction knots slipped? Zing-it is not that knot friendly:)

Two more weeks, thats all :)
Whish one could get similar throws for the same price here in Sweden!
Looks like a good beginners project:)
Great idea, should have thougth of that.
Use my 20° sleepingbag as a pod and my 40° sleepingbag as a TQ.
Gonna test it out tomorrow evening!
Okey, just got in from a 20min test hang using a Thermarest pad, my 20° UQ, 20° sleepingbag, downparka on top and my DIY UQP.
Success!
The temperature has dropped to -12C ( 10F ) and i was...
A Winter UQ is of course the easiest solution, but i´m kinda funds limited for the moment ( as Always :) )
I´ve got a UQ protector that probably will give me som boost, if not it will help me keep...
I think i need a little help here....
As winter is upon us ( at least here in Sweden) i thought i might try some cold weather camping, being that i can boost my UQ somehow.
I currently use a...
Headlamp and knife ( Fällkniven WM1 or Mora bushcraft or Fällkniven F1 ) on the RL.
Phone, chapstick, waterbottle, fleecehat, fingerless gloves, buff in RL organizer.
Sometimes a book joins me...
So i sat for about a half hour yesterday evening running the prussiks up and down the line and i found that they grip a bit better now.
The real test comes this weekend when i go out in the windy...
Hi all.
I've mostly been using two lines for my tarp ridgeline(s) until i tried Derek Hansens CRL method using a Dutch hook and Flyz.
That got me curious on trying a CRL with a Dutch hook and...
Two more weeks? Can't wait ;)
Try an extra wrap around the ridgeline.
Zing-it and Lash-it is quite slippery and i usally put five wraps when doing prussiks using that stuff.
Had the same problem btw, the extra wrap solved...
If i remember correct that knot didn't work using Amsteel on Amsteel?
I've been thinking the same thing, would a Amsteel line work if one is using a Mule tape CL instead of a Amsteel loop.

Welcome from Another Sweed :)
You gonna love it here!
Welcome from Stockholm!
I do picture 8-10 differently.
Instead of grabbing the long piece and pulling it through the short one i pull the short one through the long one.
THEN i pulle short through the long, it kinda...
Anyone of you guys ( and gals ) that are using the two piece solution also uses polemods?
The reason for me using a CRL is to let my polemod poles rest on the CRL, but i've been thinking that it...
I do the same except i use one Stinger at each end.
Instead of a carabiner on the ridgeline i hook loop on the line on the beak of the Stinger....
6 feet with Tarp Worms on the tie outs, maybe 4 foot lines for the doors and a 12 foot and a 6 foot for each panel pull.
About 40 feet for ridgeline, using Dereks method for RL, but with a twist...
Thank you all for the feedback!
I now feel the need for a polemod on my SF :)
Let's see, where is my old tent so i can harvest som poles... hmm...
Personally i use Zing-It.
Doesn't stretch, doesn't soak water and lightweight, not so good for knots though...
Maybe it's the paracord that stretches and making the tarp sag?
Haven't thought about it that way, that the polemod would make the situation worse....
So i have a question, when using this polemod on the panel pulls, does this have the same affect as using Zing-It in higher winds to prevent the sides caving inwards?
So i have been toying with this setup and testing a variant of the Dutch Hook and Flyz version.
I have my Superfly rigged with one Stingerz on either end, the Ridgeline uses no hardware, just a...
Using the CRL that Derek Hansen showed us a while back.
Not for the V but mainly for the ease of centering the tarp.
Generally hang my CRL higher than my hammock suspension so the V is of no use.
Welcome to the forums from Sweden!
I use a 11 foot Dutch hammock with a Fronkey net.
Works great!
I always bring my Superfly, mainly because it is the only one i got.
But then again, never felt the need to get another tarp, not so far at least :)
I kind of fixed it, took a pair of pliers and got the ring back into shape....
Guess i just have to be a bit careful when setting the tarp up from now....
The thing that puzzles me is that i didn't tighten the tarp overly much.
Maybe the ring got itself turned so the webbing that forms the loop on the SF had worked itself outwards on the ring....
Yep, managed to break one of the splitrings on my beloved SF when tightening the guy lines!
Never ever heard of this happening?
Looks like a 9.....
Temporarily fixed this with a Zing-it...
Welcome to the addiction:)
Works fine from Sweden......
Got mine just now.
Great piece of kit, especially the attention to details, great thinking when putting the mittenhooks at each end!
Ligthning fast shipping all the way to little Sweden.

Thanks Dutch! You da man! Order placed, now the waiting begins :(
Any idea when it will restock? I was about to place an order yesterday but life came in the way, and this morning i thought i would order one.
But noooo, they are out of stock!
I have a question, could this polemod function in the same way as tensioners?
Taking up the stretch from when the tarp gets wet/damp that is.
Thanks for the input, will give it a try when i go hang this weekend:)
Nooooo... Will... Never.... Admit... Dutch addiction....
Admitting an addiction is the first step to getting rid of it... And i just love my Bling...
Wants it, needs it.
I´ll sure keep practicing, maybe i was a tiny bit frustrated when i wrote the post :)
I love my Worms though, the more Dutch bling the merrier!
