Give us good news...

No cost. You need a hammock, tarp, insulation, food and water.
If you don't have a hammock yet, you can bring a tent. We'll pick on you, but we won't mean it.
Optional is booze, snacks,...
There's a stream right next to the campsite, whether there's water, I don't know

Well that's bad news

I've never seen this stream dry. It's close enough to parking, you could always leave extra in your vehicle

I might have to work Saturday, so may not make it

Yes, you'll have to dig through the posts for it

Last year there was a trail and minimal bushwhacking where maintenance was needed. If my memory serves me well enough, at least.

The best directions I know of are from an old post via bonsaihiker in 2010. Complete with topo maps and gps coordinates.

I'm hoping to be able to attend. All depends on work. Changing roles and I've yet to get a confirmed schedule. Will fill in the sign up sheet when I'm sure.

Found out earlier today I have a schedule conflict so I'll be unable to come out this winter hang. Have a great time everyone, I'll try to show up in the spring.
I bought quilt hangers from Dutch to hang my UB. They work well for me. I have the ridgeline hooks that do what your s-biner accomplishes but have never used them. I should fix that.

From my experience, they are roughly rated to around 30 degrees. I've doubled up on the under blanket and had good success hitting lower temperatures. I forgot the top quilt when I did this, but I...
I know I'm late but I've layered two ~30 degree UQ's for winter hangs with good results. I just wish they weren't so heavy combined. Lucky we were at a state park and there was no hike in.
Sigh... HARTFORD CITY!

My brother and I had a great time. Thanks for all that came out.
Also, we both left one trekking pole each. They match, if any one bothered to find and hike them out, feel free to keep them if you...
I think I remember someone going not long ago and mentioning it wasn't good.
I plan on packing all my water, but leaving some in the car. Will probably hike a bit on Friday so no problem walking...
My brother and I will be coming in Thursday night.

Sorry to hear that aiden. Good luck making it up next Saturday.
Working for me

It stands for crescent valley two. It isn't on any official maps.

Do a search for Halloween, look for the 2015 Halloween hang. The GPS coordinates are in first post.

Guess I didn't mention my intent to attend. Plan to be there the whole weekend

Try to carpool?
The area is Charles Deam Wilderness of the Hoosier National Forest. It is pretty easy to get to, you'll want to look for the Firetower parking lot. I've never stayed at CV2, but I am familiar with...
You'll want to bring food, your hammock setup, and be ready for a good time.
Not sure if we're doing a potluck meal or not, but at least bring food for yourself.
You could try making a stand for the hammock.

I thought so, just wanted to make sure. Will do my best to be there by noon. Don't feel obligated to wait for me, I have a knack for car trouble
Which parking lot? I am unfamiliar with the trail and wouldn't mind hiking buddies.
Any I'll bring an empty bladder fill it just before the hill. Seems to be the best option. Don't want to hike it all in.

I hike with 3-4 liters, normally. As long as I don't get low I should be fine. Prefer that flowing water.

I'm unfamiliar with the hollow. Does this mean we won't have to filter from the previously mentioned pond?

Great, now I know what to do when I'm broke
There are GPS and whatnot posted somewhere in this thread. Happy digging?
Heh, I'm in the Deam doing just that. Since the hang will be at Browning, I'm glad to get it out of the way.
Good deal
Post #45 on the 5th page.
ConcordSage, if you'd like, I could bring an extra hammock (or two). I don't expect to have any extra tarps, though. I have a total of 5 hammocks available. I'll be in one. If my brother comes along,...
Count me in. Might be bringing my brother if he can make it.
Heal up quickly and fully, Slider.
Good call Treebird. I'll just bring the booze then upsale it like at sporting events...
I'm trying to figure out what to bring altogether. I have a small car and will have ski gear with me. Maybe I'll shoot for assorted snacks/desserts.
I'll be coming in somewhat late. Go7ng to be skiing early in the day, then have to drive over after that. Shouldn't have any problems sleeping...
Me and my non winter tarp will have some fun...
Looks like my weekend opened up after all. Count me in.
His silpoly is 58" wide
I just re-read your post and noticed the above. The asym style tarp is NOT a rectangle. You cut from 16" down on one side to the corner of the same end, then flip and do the same to the other end of...
That 62 inches isn't the width, it is how long that edge is. The width should be 59.9 inches if my math is correct.
Also, Dutch's silnylon is 58 inches wide. That loss shouldn't be too much of an...

"Burning Men" Campout and Hang May 19-21, 2016 -Kezar Falls, Maine [????]
Didn't read into it, but it's your state.[emoji1]
There is a section for group hangs, look for northeast and look for Maine. There is one being planned for kezer falls,
