The hammock forums app. There used to be one available on the Google app store
I can't find the app anymore in the Google play store? Is it just gone? Had to reset my phone so i lost the app and am trying to redownload it.
one of the biggest advantages I think in hammock camping is like you said, being able to use the hammock as a place to sit/lounge during the day. if I'm taking a day to just read a book instead of...
Dutch, you guys ever thought about making a bridge version of the chameleon?
Looking for some good trail loop recommendations in MO or even AR close to MO. Wanting just a few days to get out and explore MO a lil bit.
Happy birthday Shug, thanks for all the vids. Your channel really changed how I camp for the better.
Have yourself a poptart in the hammock.
Woo buddy!
Can't go wrong with either WarBonnet or HammockGear
i dont know much about dream hammocks, but could you just remove the SRL that it comes with and put your own, adjustable SRL on?
if thats doable, seems like the easiest/cheapest option
Welcome! How's it hanging
Look up Shug Emery's channel on youtube. He has a video about venting cold weather hammocks in warmer weather
Sintax77 and Shug Emery are IMO the best youtube channels for all hammock items. Obviously Dutch has his own channel where he introduces all his new products but Sintax77 and Shug go a lil more in...
yes, all of the chameleon add ons fit both the regular and the wide version
I'd suggest a Dutchware Chameleon. It comes in lots of different colors, fabrics, and even has a wide version that fits either 1 large person or 2 smaller people perfectly.
Dutchware also has an...
I use my UQP any time its windy or raining. Is it absolutely necessary? No way. But i think it helps, especially considering how expensive down quilts are.
Where'd you get the 2" sleeves?
if you're looking at getting a chameleon get the wide version. they recommend the wide for anyone 6'2" and up i believe
Depends on your height/shoulder width.
I've never used the PCT method of food hanging before but when Dutch came out with his own dongle for it, i decided to get one and try it out.
I'm wondering what type of food bag people usually...
All depends on how tall you are. I'm 6'2" and when i got the regular width chameleon i had to trade it in for the wide version. Dutchware recommends the wide version of the chameleon for anyone over...
Thanks for the response. I'll be going solo so hopefully it works out in my favor. I contacted the Isle Royale forestry service to see what their opinion was. I'll probably bring a small pad just in...
Thanks for the responses everyone. Probably gonna camp at one of these places.
I'm planning on going to Isle Royale, specifically the Feldtmann Ridgestone Loop in August and I was wondering if anyone can say whether or not they had trouble finding any suitable hammock spots.
Im 6'2" and have tried both the regular and wide version of the chameleon, and much prefer the wide version. much more room to have in the hammock.
I have the same tarp and i use Dutchware Fleaz on my tarp edges. works like a charm for me
Why don't you wanna try quilts?
i would say that if you're at all questioning whether or not to get the wide chameleon to just go ahead and get it. that added width is really nice and its a little inconvenient to have to send back...
Also i have the coyote brown color and personally love it. It goes well with my tarp and quilts.
I'm 6'2" and i had to send back the regular width hammock because it was just too small for me. The wide option, for me, has been absolutely worth it so far. That added width is so nice for us tall...
Any free places to camp near Grand Portage before taking the ferry to Isle Royale?
I would like to get some Blue Water Cafe breakfast to start the trip....or maybe end with some Gunflint Tavern
I go canoeing in the BWCA, never gone hiking there. Do i need a back country permit for BWCA hiking areas?
Are there any loop options on the SHT? I'm looking to head up to MN in mid july for about a week, and if i could find a loop that'd be great. From what i can tell is that the SHT is mostly just a...
Just posting to say to anyone who is considering getting the wide chameleon instead of the normal width, do it. If you're at all thinking you might need/want the extra room i would just spend the...
I wish i had a friend nice enough to purchase me a WBB. Welcome (back).
I store my Mambajamba in the sack it came with but now i'm thinking of just stuffing it in the outer mesh pocket of my pack.
Can you post a pic of the webbing and cinch buckle?
Another welcome from NE Kansas. Rock Chalk!
What hammock do you have?
Eh, i'd just try and find the stud-finder. Not worth the risk of multiple holes in your wall that might not even work for a hammock. Just my opinion though.
Ah, gotcha. As always, Dutch thinks of everything
I thought with the Chameleon there is no distinguished head end?
Anyone know what the length of the continuous loop on the Chameleon is?
Almost all of the options you'll hear about here are going to be good options. It will just come down to personal preference for you.
Hope the hammock helps you out. Welcome.
I do a lot of canoeing so i own tons of roll-top dry bags. I use those for all my baaically everything. It adds a little weight with all those bags but the extra organization is nice for me.
It was strange the first night but even that first night i slept well. I feel as 'secure' in a hammock as i do as a tent, with the added comfort of the hammock.
Anyone else think it'd be nice if Dutchware came out with a camo bugnet for the chameleon using a bugnetting like this?...
What are you planning on using the loops for?
Had a bunch of college roommates that had hammocks, mostly ENOs and cheap ones. Got a really basic hammock from my cousin's husband and it came with some weird suspension that i cant even remember...
Welcome. The Mamajamba is a great tarp and will suit you well up in that Minnesota wilderness.
From what i understand, the only difference is what you've already talked about, which is weight. If that small weight difference isnt important to you, go ahead and get the Econ series. I have a set...
