If I had only one tarp, it would definitely be with doors. The doors on my favorite tarp have come in handy more than a few times and allowed for a more restful night.

I love my Trail Lair, and I have no doubts that you will be happy. I wish I had your wisdom in my first hammock purchase; I had to go the live and learn route!

The tensile tents use ratchet straps which in my mind increase the potential of putting too much tension between the trees. Add the weight of a few folks, and the forces are just going to push good...
Done! If anyone deserves an A+, it is Dutch. Heck, there should be an A+++ for the high quality products and customer service he provides. Preaching to the choir here though, right?

I can’t chime in on the XS size as mine is 65” 10°F, but the baffles in mine work quite well holding the down in place. No issues when hanging in upper teens w/ wind. I too like the weights of their...
+1. Usually go with full up, or full down if the weather warrants.
This beauty is a 11’ 1.2 Robic. I love the lay and feel of the fabric. I’m glad the peak shelves were a product of your collaboration w/Jared. I love mine and might have to send back my hammock to...
Thanks! Jared used red stitching on the black hammock, and black sticking on the red windshield and stuff sack. He never blinks at a request!
I’m thinking that the Trail Lair will also be a great winter hammock, especially with the windshield deployed. I went with a calendared fabric on the windshield to maximize wind blockage. I’m not...
This is my second trip w/my new Trail Lair. I have spent 7 nights sleeping in this rig so far, and every night I’ve slept like a baby. I even got to use the wind shield in 25-30 mph winds on a...
I was torn between the two for a long time. I finally pulled the trigger on a Trail Lair. I knew both were high quality hammocks and I wouldn’t regret either, but I wanted to avoid falling down...
I’ve been using this for about a year and so far, really like it:

The easy usb recharge feature is a huge plus.
I am enjoying my new SLD Trail Lair as well. I went with 60” width in 1.2 Robic. I love the high quality craftsmanship and customization I was able to request (Jared never blinked at anything I...
I keep mine tied together slung over my ridge line towards the foot end of my hammock.

Does it have the standard cinch top closure or is it a roll top?

I've got a 10° Revolt under me and a 20° Revelation above. I'm hoping to avoid the ground too, but you never know where life's grand adventures may take you!

I've had my 20° EE Revelation down to 23° in windy conditions and I was very toasty. I am typically a cold sleeper, so I think EE's temp ratings are conservative if anything. The Revelation and...
I've got the regular width EE Revelation and I could definitely get by with the slim when hanging. I have fairly broad shoulders and side-sleep. If I ever need to go to ground, the extra width of my...
I love my EE 20° Revelation! The straps do indeed come off and are helpful when going to ground; I don't use them when hanging. EE's craftsmanship is excellent. If width is a concern, if you have a...
Be sure your watching the quilt weights when comparing; my 10° EE Revolt is lighter than ENO's 30-40° quilt. There is about a 10-12 oz difference between the comparable temp ratings). If you are only...
Biggest selling points to me (a 47 year old kid):
1) When I get out of a tent, I feel 67yo and my body hates me and I hate it for betraying me.
2) When I spring from my hammock, I feel like a...
I used a pad for a while, but got tired of it slipping all over the place, so I bought a down UG from Enlightened Equipment. My 10° Revolt is a prized possession now; I sleep like a toasty baby....
I really like my Dyneema straps paired with the Dutch Ti buckles. The straps definitely stretched the first time I used them, but I believe the weave tightened up and they don't stretch on subsequent...
