@hutzelbein
the sock is long eough, it sits on the hooks. its not an issue. its not wide enough.
@huzelbein
the hammock is 320, including the rope, without the hooks. i changed the original hooks. the measurements i provided are apprx. correct.
well, the fact that the sock SHOULD provide...

hey guys,
in case u punch a little hole in your h. what should u do about it?
thanks!!
i have no idea.
but it sounds like an easy modification u can do urself
uhhmmmm.... tightening the ends ... isnt this going to close the h. over my face? the h. that guy has, is much smaller than mine.
wouldnt be flapping anymore, but would close torwards the middle...
tttm king size
works great for 2 people
but for 1 person... its too much fabric
i am sure this had been covered but i have no idea how to search for it ...
my h. is pretty large (2,30 m / 7 1/2 foot) so the fabric is in my face .... right now i use rubber coated magnets....
any tree falls at some point
conifers are more likely, as they dont get that old. so the chance of any given tree to fall is much bigger.
but healthy trees are very very unlikely to fall under...
i trust thst you are exhausted after a long day of hiking... but at best, you have used 50% of your muscles.
something like this
if you are really concerned about branches falling, start in conifer forests.
branches are rarely heavy enough to really hurt you.... even if they hit you.
for how long does the smell last?? as long as the effect?
those suckers are all over
has anybody tried that? does it keep all insects away? could it damage my gear?
got a massive ant problem atm :( :( :( :(
also got pill bugs..... baaahhhhhhh
:(
nobody tried it?
:(
well, guys, please try... and post some comments. its another cool advantage of using a h,
as if there were not enough already ... :)
@dan
well, that works even better, when doing a workout b4 laying down
If you really need to get your pump on while in the woods, just find a branch head high and use that.
--- i sleep 95%isch in conifer forrests. no usable horizontal branches there.
I prefer to...
well, its not high enough for pull ups. but still many excercises u can do. i can takes some pictures if any1 wants to see. but i guess u get the idea
ive a structural ridgeline. holds over 1000...
@gmc
thats interesting... have u seen branches fall without strong wind?
can i hire u to climb up and check the trees before i set up??
u want to use 2 UQs?
what ya think?? picture taken from within ...
ive tried a few holds and pushes. works great. intense workout for shoulders, chest. grip. 2 min can be enough.
any experience?
any ideas for safety?
any ideas for grips (hardware) on 5 mm...
i have trouble resetting my loaded (heavy) hammock after setting up and loading my hammock.
i gave up on clinche buckles and now just knot it off.
any ideas?
happy friday
:)
maybe u can return it ... if the tarp leaks ... no point in having a tarp with holes
why fiddle around with extra gear?
just take the bigger tarp.
if you go inside any forrest, wind is 95% no issue at all. maybe 99%.
pitch the tarp low... finish.
agree with slug... many different variables to consider.
your pad should be soft and formable
might not even work at all. QU are a tricky mess sometimes...
might not be the best option if u want to use for a long time.
@gadget
hope i dont seem unthankful for all the advice i get here. i wild camp while working in a different city 3-4 nights per week. so the benefit of being a member here to me is huge and much...
@grappler
closing your eyes is a joke, right? or is there a meaning? not sure i get you ...
mhhh.. despite the clear opposition to shot cord.... i often pitch that thing in bad conditions. darkness, uneven ground, sometimes rain and i think, shot cord is more forgiving... u think with...
my tarp (made by dd, couple month old) is sagging pretty bad. this morning it was wet, but in dry conditions ive got the problem too.
i use shotcord on all 4 anchor points.
any ideas?
...
ive got one shaped like an U, with a strap in front.
not going anywhere during the night... also so comfi... sometimes forget to take it off
using a stick to push them up is a fun idea... didnt think about that.... but i cant really do that thing with the line of my tarp :/
yesss... i know the load becomes more. but ive got a lot of...
@gadget
yesssss thanks!!!
i just checked the specs again. the black rope is a bit stretchy (10-15%), which i was not aware of. will get webbing for that side too. think thats a big part of the...
all righty.... i meant the knot foxpoop explained here earlier.
my issue is again the tension. this setup is maybe 8meters apart but its sagging too much. when i am in there, my gear hammock is...
not sure what u mean by rig. english isnt my first language... i barley hang in here
but.... how do i attach it to my straps?
@jck
mhhh... i saw whoopies promoted with 200 - 300 pounds. but even if they hold more, ill have to do with what i have. which is plenty... no need to buy more.
foxes knot works fine. but if u...
my grar hammock suspension is touching my actual hammock which is a bit annoying. the only if i set it very low, this stops. but thats not really practical.
any ideas?
thanksss
my first nights out, i had a normal blanket and used ducktape to make it into an UQ. looks weird, but works perfectly well. an UQ is awesome and by most condidered to be the best option to keep ur...
guess the webbing will loose some due to knots and turns. lets say its 900 kg.
personally i like to limit working load to 30% of the breaking load.
this way is safe and keeps equipment alive...
tree straps >3T its boot equipment
webbing 1,3T
carabiners 2,8T
steel rings >800 kg (looking to replace thoose)
alu rings 2,2T
ridge line 1,2T
well.. unlike most people, i like to sleep in a h. with another person. also, i use tension my setup.
there is also no way, id trust my life to sth, called a "whoopie"... :mellow:
the weakest...
i like the one ring knot... but only if i can secure it with more knots.
