Glad they are working out well for you!

They never did go on strike. Canada Post has backed off the threat of a lockout, but they are still in contract negotiations, so technically there is still a possibility, though it is looking less...
Add a fourth ring and you've got yourself some brass knuckles in a pinch ;) I am also curious about your intended method of attaching to your hardware. I know I designed mine around how I wanted to...
Regarding the thicker mini, I unfortunately have been swamped, leaving me little time to tinker, but I have crazy glued two unfinished minis together just to fiddle with, and the extra thickness...
It seems to me that the hold of the half twist has to do with the loaded end being pulled down against the tail, holding it in place. The 1/8" being slightly thicker allows the loaded end to press...
I'm frankly a little baffled that there would be a noticeable difference between 7/64" and 1/8", but can't argue with experience.

Previous thread was locked as I made some mentions of shipping times and estimated delivery times and this was considered conducting business on the forum. This thread will relate the products only,...
That is inexcusable, as pioneers and path breakers in the hammock world we must be paragons of excellence at all times, shining a bright beacon of hope to the unenlightened tenters crouching in the...
Possibly, but intention is always difficult to read online; let's give the benefit of doubt and move past, please.
If we can get some more details of exactly how it was rigged we can hopefully get...
daneaustin3 posted some pics to the Facebook page of them being used with webbing, maybe he can weigh in.
Your order is packed and will be dropped off at the post office tomorrow.

Glad they got there safe and sound.

The delivery standard to you is 4-6 business days, so that should mean tomorrow at the latest. Please let me know if they do not arrive by then. Oddly enough, delivery standard to Finland is 4-7...
You do have a point, it does kind of look like the weave has opened up but the individual strands are ok. Carrico, I'm assuming you did try and work the Amsteel back to normal?

Thanks, feels a little cartoony to me, but for my limited graphic design skills I'm pretty happy.

Well I am definitely glad you didn't end up on your butt!

No problem. Everything held up OK in shipping? When I sent out the prototypes they tore up the envelopes pretty bad, but I wasn't using the foam on those.

It is still a work in progress (everything is at this point) but I hope the site is a bit more informative now. I've added a quick description on the home page, as well as a link to the new media...
I do agree that there could be more info on the website though, thank you for the constructive criticism. I kind of grew from here to the Facebook page, then to the site when realizing Facebook...
I will have to find a source for better titanium before giving an answer on that, seeing as what my supplier has is equal in strength to aluminum, so not any advantage of going to titanium. Will get...
I think both are likely but timeline on them is uncertain. Thicker possibly with the next order, but anodization might be a while longer. I think doing the anodization myself will be the most cost...
Sorry to hear about your father, our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

OK, to throw another monkey wrench into the mix, I've been doing more digging around and discovered that the grade of titanium that my supplier uses is actually virtually the same strength as the...
Not sure if everyone who's weighed in on the poll so far is from here, but I have to admit I'm a little confused: so far the responses are basically split between the titanium COGmini and the...
FYI titanium is actually significantly heavier than aluminum, about 1.6x more. The misconception of it being lighter is that due its higher strength, less of it can be used.
Just added a couple new features to the site: you can comment on blog posts, you can post a product review, and there is a polls feature. The current poll will let you give a nudge to the next...
As a quick estimate, going through my current supplier I would have to charge $10 CAD for the COGminis in titanium, which I'm thinking is probably a bit on the steep side for most, but maybe not....
I'm wondering how the extra thickness would affect their usability, might be a little hard to hook line onto them. Think I will crazy glue two of the thin ones together and try them out lol
ps22285, who was one of my beta testers, just uploaded a video review he did of the original COGs; you can check it out here:

Also, I don't think I've mentioned it...
Let's be perfectly clear, that disclaimer is there to cover my butt, because there are a lot of very stupid people in the world...lol Do I personally think hanging from the minis would be safe? Yes,...

Also, I took some video of the test, I will get that edited and uploaded as soon as possible!

Just had a chance to do a tensile strength test on one of the COGminis, and I was frankly blown away by the results. I was expecting a failure point somewhere around 300 lbs of force, when in fact...

I haven't experienced this exact case, but do have hoisting and rigging experience with soft straps and sharp edges.
Using a soft material to pad a sharp corner is not very effective, the strain...
Haven't been giving the forum the love it deserves with trying to keep the Facebook page updated, and now adding the site, so here's some pictures.
Here's the first batch fresh from eMachineShop:...
First two orders are on their way!
Thank you! Will have them on their way today. Can't guarantee I will always be able to do same day shipping (full time jobs are a pain) but will do my best!
Crisis averted! Only to have another one, then that one was averted too...lol There is now a dedicated storefront, hosted by Shopify, located at https://cog-clip.myshopify.com/ This will allow...
Well, I opened up the sales on Facebook today, only to have it pointed out to me, to my chagrin, that Shopify (my sales portal), only supports one item per transaction when selling through Facebook....
Didn't quite follow how you did the knot when you had posted it originally, now that I get what you're doing I really like it.

Have decided on $4.99 CAD (approximately $4 US) for the COGmini and and $9.99 CAD (approximately $8 US) for the full-size COG. They will be sold per piece, so you can purchase as few or as many as...
Placed an order through an online machine shop yesterday as the local shops were completely ridiculous (2.5x to 5x more expensive) so not sure exactly when they will be cut, but expected to be here...
Thickness on the COGmini is in fact 1/8", it is half scale in every dimension. I'm guesstimating breaking strength of 300 lbs but that's simply based on a very rudimentary understanding of physics,...
Some of you may have seen my previous posts regarding these clips I have been developing; as I am preparing to sell these, it is no longer appropriate for me to discuss these in the main forum...
To keep the sales talk off the forum please message me through the Facebook page (link in my signature) regarding any sales inquiry. If we spoke previously on the forum, including you forum username...
To those of you who had an interest in the COG clips as seen in the previous thread "New Easy Attach Hardware Design":
Due to total negligence on my part, I violated the rules regarding vendors on...
Unfortunately interest is as far as it will go for me, won't be able to make it this time.

Looks like those corners could use more rounding off, looks like they basically just broke the corner to remove the burr. I would try giving the edges more of a radius, and if the problem persists...
