This doesn’t look like a tension problem to me it looks like missed stitches. Tension usually will be every stitch not sporadic like this. I had this happen to me a couple of times but right not i...
Rose feather markets several different fill power and down percentage on amazon and it changes from time to time. You have to read the description carefully. I have purchased from them on a couple of...
Sometimes the down they get is a little to odorous. Hang it outside in the sun for a few days is should help. It did with mine.
Doesn’t sound wide enough. I use full width of fabric minus as little as possible trimed off the selvege.
I am currently at the dam at lake oconee. Never been to Redlands Wma.
It sews as good as any of the thin, slick fabrics, it is mostly just learning to control the stuff. I made a tq and uq using it as inner and outter shell. Very happy with is as it feels really good...
I am on lake oconee near greensboro ga and will be glad to help get you started if you are close by. I have made a few hammocks, tarps, tqs and uqs among other things.
So far with the 9960 I have no issues with any thread or anything else for that matter and I have done a lot of sewing since getting it. Underquilt, hammock, top quilt just finished with the .66...
I have the same machine basically, the 4423 and I used the 70 almost exclusively until recently and I had it happen a time or two and also it would twist and come out of the first thread guide. I...
I posted a question on Amazon about the lack of info on the lubrication of the 4423 and a Singer rep answered with something like this.
"The 4423 does not need to be lubricated since it is...
Growing up in the south as soon as school ended at the beginning of summer we took our shoes off and didn't wear them again till school started back in the fall. Our feet would get tough and leather...
Nothing wrong with computerized sewing machines. I have used older mechanical machines, fairly new mechanical machines, brand new mechanical machines and none sew as well or are they as easy to use...
I had this problem and what was happening was i was helping the thicker seam along by pulling on the material and occasionally would over pull and it would ding up a loop on the bottom side. I didn't...
I started out using the mss as my insulation in my hammock. I used all three in the hammock and by the time I got all the bags straightened out and zipped it would be time to get up and pee. Then I...
I have used an older mechanical pfaff, a 70's singer touch n sew, a newer mechanical singer 4423 and a Singer electronic 9960. They all do the job but the 9960 is the easiest and best sewing of them...
Happy birthday and thanks for the info.
I want to change my opinion of the membrane taffeta material that I used on my uq. Now that I have handled it a bit and actually used the quilt a couple of times I really can not tell the difference...
Thanks for your info, that is what I was hoping to find out. I have been using a bag I made with two cinchable openings and put one hand in through the one and stick an empty toilet paper tube in the...
Make sure your shoes are comfortable and broken in. The lighter the better. Carry some mole skin and at the first signs of discomfort on your feet stop and take care of that. Just carry the water you...
Let me start over. I have a quilt and I know how much down I want in it. I have the down I need and it is crammed into a 800 cubic inch space and it wants a little more room. 5950 cubic inches to be...
Well to treat with nikwax you have to completely wet the down quilt, jacket whatever then rinse completely and then dry the whole shebang, same as if you are washing it, so I don't see the difference...
Well, it is a 7 oz bag and i was thinking about dividing into the number of clumps needed when wet. Don't know that I will try it but can't be much more of a PITA that doing it dry.

Anyone ever wet the down in order to stuff a quilt. I made my wife a quilt and plan on treating with the nikwax and was wondering about wetting the down with the treatment in the bulk bag then...

No problem. Everything really good is worth a little work, so having to work a little extra to get your products is worth it. I think we will hang in there with you dutch.

Nearly finished my uq using the taffeta and since I have not added the suspension yet I thought I would check it out as a top quilt. The material is very soft but feels plasticity to me, I don't...

Never got the machine. Contacted the amazon seller several days ago, nothing. Ordered one of the used like new box damaged. Got it in two days. Seems perfect. Box was slightly damaged but did not...

Would not run. Error. Shows only 13 bytes
You might say that was baffling or that I was baffled. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

No that won't work will it, that would decrease all the baffle heights. Well my material just ain't quite wide enough for what I want but I can fix that.

You mean the to make up for no baffle on the side seam. That makes sense but I'd rather have the extra in the bottom. Thanks.

It's not that. It is the baffle width computed. Ten baffles in a 59" wide shell, to me should come out to 5.9". Calculator comes up with 5.4" baffels. 5.4 X 10 is 54 inches.
