Maybe another design for bridge hammocks?
Man, what a cool experience! I like that suspension system that Gear For Trees guy demoed.
Bruh, this like some fairy tale...
Welcome! Not sure how close you are to Uwharrie (closer than me though), and they have a meetup next week. I would recommend getting out there...you'll get a lot of info and get to see the various...
That works. I guess don't stake out the bugnet.
I like the bugnet style on the Warbonnet BB XLC and Eldorado (doesn't have the shelf) that keeps it off your face but requires using the bugnet tieouts, at least on the head end. On my Chameleon...
The bugnet will determine asym/sym. Without a bugnet, the hammock is symmetrical. Dutch has video about the bugnet shapes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsrT0CbsfAs&t=11s
HG still has their 30% sale...but those prices for the combo sets are pretty compelling. If those temps are comfort rated, then those are some really low priced quilts.
I use the Dutch spider/polys. I'm 270...works fine on with the CLs on a gathered end. They should work as long as you can loop on the hammock suspension over the wings.
Man, those Apex quilts must be real bulky.
Yeah, if you switching from Apex to down, you should have extra room in your pack. What's your pack volume? I have a Zpacks Arc Blast, and the main is 42L. With the 20F stuff, plus winter layers,...
Well, I have Hammock Gear quilts so ymmv...the stuff sacks for the 20F Burrow and Incubator are 8.5L each, so 17L total. On the HG site, the 30F gear comes with 5.5L stuff sacks for 11L total.
It's a journey...hammocks and gear are quite fiddly things. Anyone here can recommend what works for them, but sometimes it won't work for you. Take a look at some of Shug's canoe and kayak videos...
Nice! Here's one I got a few years ago in Uwharrie...slept in and woke up to a beautiful morning. I do like my trips to the NC forests.

Today is the last day on HG's current 30% off sale.
I switched over to tactical toggles on my split ridgeline. I bet you can use one in place of the Dutch wasp. It slides easily up and down the line, and it holds quite well. The wasp is a PITA to...
I just use a Marlin spike hitch at the stake with my Zing it cordage. I mean, if you really need the adjustability of UCRs go for it...but I just set it and call it a night. Reflective cordage...
Yeah, Frozen is a good representative. He's switched over to tents and he's gearing up for a PCT hike this year. Frozen, the Schill Brothers, Sintax and of course Shug were the primary YTers I...
The Warbonnet cinch buckles and straps are rated to 400 lbs.
Like others have pointed out, the Dutch beetle buckles with spider/poly straps are rated to 350 lbs. Been using them for years.
I commented on his one tigris hammock camp and review he did with his girl. He was complaining about the weight and that a tent was way lighter. I went through his gear list...was all like 2 lbs...
I have no issues with an 11' WB Superfly with all the lines working with a 12' HG mesh sleeve.
I get that time is of the essence, but what if you kept them uncompressed in your car and spent the 2 minutes stuffing them into your go bag when you and your team gear up.
Dang, 7 years...why?
Welcome...now thats what I'm talking about: fish camping! My hiking buddy and I have been trying to figure out spots to go hammock and fish around the NC/SC/GA/TN corner.
Dutch also has a bridge hammock: https://dutchwaregear.com/product-category/hammock-gear/hammocks/banyan-bridge/
Try it without the pullouts. I don't use them...even on my symmetrical Chameleon. Yeah, its a little floppy but I'm ok with it. With the WB Eldorado, the pullout for the bugnet is necessary...
Interfere staying up, with you in the hammock or empty?
So something to wick moisture? Shug uses a frost bib in some of his videos.

From the Samson website:
https://www.samsonrope.com/mooring/amsteel--blue
Size 7/64" (2.5 mm) changes from 12-strand to 8-strand construction. ISO strength specifications are for unspliced...
Exactly what I was thinking! Look out for the white walkers!
Any tarp with doors...can't go wrong with a Warbonnet Superfly: https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/product/superfly/
They also have a large hot tent style tarp, the Tsunami: ...
See this post from Stormcrow about the baffles: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/166204-TQ-longevity?p=2093553&viewfull=1#post2093553
I'm using Brave on Win 10. ° alt 0176 works just fine
I assume it's a trademarked name? Ion, Argon, Xenon, Hexon...I notice only Dutch has those. I guess other vendors (ex SLD) that sell Xenon tarps are sourcing the fabrics from Dutch.
I see that short tie out clip in a few of the photos...looks like it clips on to the bug net tie outs:
https://www.hammockforums.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=12483&catid=member&imageuser=1074
...
Oh wow, that is super short. And there's just one?
Is it more on the head or foot end? Maybe it's for connecting to the ridgeline and keeping it in place?
Ya'll in NC need to check for burn bans and park closures. I got back from South Mountains a few days early...we had to leave because all the back country sites are shut down due to fire hazard. ...
Be sure to check that those camp sites are available.
Just got back from South Mountains State Park...they kicked us out early, we still had 2 more nights. Park ranger drove up to us as we were...
Maybe check the default language settings for your Mac...it might be on some other version of English? Not sure how, I use Windows.
Depends on your use case. I would imagine if you were doing a long distance thru hike, using the gear daily I would look at the overfill option due to the constant use, compression, expansion and...
I can't sleep on the ground...sucks, because there are spots out west I'd like to hike. Been researching the Tensa solo as an option to still be able to use a hammock.
Is your 20F quilt 50 inch wide? If so, try it out...try laying on your side and see if gaps open up. I think small frame/small shouldered people should be ok with the 50 inch width...really depends...
If you don't have someone around, try setting your phone up to record video of the problem area and get in the hammock. Comment what you're feeling, makes some adjustments, etc. then review the...
Yeah, now that you mention it...how? From DW site:
The Chameleon Zip-on Underquilt works in conjunction with ALL of our Chameleon accessories as well as our Wide and 12-foot Chameleons.
For your hammock, do you have these pack hooks sewn on? You mentioned a Chameleon, so it should have them. If so, run your Incubator suspension cords on your outside shoulder through these. I...
Well, it works until it doesn't.
Oh, I have a WB Eldorado...its the XLC minus the shelf. I had the same calf ridge issue. The problem I had was that I hung it they same way I did my original DW Half Zip. It was std lay only, so I...
On your issues with the GE hammocks, I had similar ones but I found it was the single direction lay. Since switching to a symmetrical, I have a better experience. Haven't tried a bridge style...
