good idea
yes, I think a week is a reasonable amount of time to wait.
I've been happy with the hammock itself, my only issues were some QC problems with the stitching which are mainly cosmetic.
thanks for the tip, I had already cleared the cache/cookies/history etc in case that was the issue but apparently not.
thanks for the info.
i purchased a chameleon hammock from dutchwaregear earlier in the year and a couple of weeks ago decided to write a review on their site.
My review was a mixture of positive and negative and I...
That's interesting to hear, I had looked at the snugpak hammock quilt and given the length is stated at 188 cm I had dismissed it as too small (http://www.snugpak.com/outdoor/hammock-quilt), maybe...
*enquiring
I thought perhaps you could send me your closetful of $20 tarps and I could use those instead
I don't think £100 (~$145) is an unreasonable budget for a top quilt, certainly not in any way comparable for buying a £15 tarp! And why on earth would you buy a closetful?! most bizzare.
I'm sure they are superb but they are A) too expensive and B) too short
What quilts are there for someone 6'5"? I don't see any.
It's 159 euros... and only 177cm long, so overbudget and undersized...
thanks anyways.
Thanks, yes sorry I should've mentioned temperature rating in my original post, I am looking at something for 3 season use, down to around 3-5°C I would guess, do you have a link to suitable snugpak...
Thanks
Thanks for the info, will investigate Scotty but bespoke sounds expensive to me...
As for Alpkit and UK Hammocks I don't see them having anything suitable, am I missing something?
Cheers.
Hi,
I am looking to buy a top quilt for my hammock, I am 6'5" and located in the UK. My budget is up to £100 (approx $150).
Anyone know of something that would fit the bill and importantly...
I can imagine, enjoy your trip, if visiting inlaws can ever be enjoyable!
Shame... what brings you to Yorkshire?
So I ended up buying the kee klamp fittings and tube to make the stand and have just put it altogether for the first time today (photos attached).
I was advised to use 42mm tubing which I have to...
Just a quick follow up on this thread...
I called UK Hammocks and spoke to someone (didn't take a name), was told they are still UK Warbonnet suppliers but that they haven't had stock for some...
Just a quick follow up to this I emailed Warbonnet last weekend and they have failed to respond to my question regarding UK suppliers, I also emailed UK Hammocks who also have failed to respond to...
It's hard to find others to order together... let's face it, the import and shipping charges are sadly way to high to buy from the US much of the time. Unless of course you really need something and...
Thanks for the info, I do buy some stuff from the US from time to time but am not willing to pay a huge premium!
Hope Warbonnet will get back to me with a reasonable means of sourcing the hammock...
Thanks for the info - Yes I had read that UK Hammock sold Warbonnet hammocks in the past but seemingly no longer.
Hi,
I am interested in purchasing a Blackbird XLC in the UK but have been unable to find a UK supplier.
I have just emailed Warbonnet so hope to get an official answer from them shortly but was...
Thanks for the suggestions.
I've seen kee klamps used for some fairly heavy duty projects so I'm guess they would be plenty strong enough, but I guess the devil is in the detail in terms of how...
Just use a single pole guyed out to the ground in two places. You can make a tripod if you want to, but you'd still have to guy it out to the ground or use a ridge pole to the tree to keep it from...
Hi,
Thanks for the info - guess I hadn't fully thought through the way the support is loaded... maybe full stand is best way to go.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the suggestion but if I am going that route I might as well build the full stand.
I am looking for a free standing solution using kee klamps (e.g. tripod type design).
The important...
That is the full stand, what are you suggesting for a single end support?
Thanks.
Hi,
I am looking to build a DIY support for one end of my hammock for use in my garden (tree is available for the other support).
I have been looking at building a complete stand (Pipe Stand...
Hi Loki,
Thanks for the info.
Hi,
I am thinking about making this stand using Kee Klamp tubes and fittings (see attached photo).
Anyone with experience of this setup? Have been advised that the 42mm would be the minimum...
